November 17, 2006
AMDL said Friday the China State Food and Drug Administration approved its antibiotic levofloxacin.
The antibiotic is made by AMDL’s China subsidiary, Jade Pharmaceutical.
China’s pharmaceutical market is undergoing tremendous growth and all signs point to a continuation of this trend, said Gary Dreher, AMDL’s CEO.
Jade will manufacture levofloxacin at the Jiangxi Jade facility in the South China City of Shargro in the Jiangxi Province of China.
Levofloxacin, which is a fluoroquinolone, is used to treat various infections, including pneumonia and infections of the kidney, skin and urinary tract.
