Graham Regional Medical Center Introduces MEDHOST's Cutting-Edge Technology In The Emergency Department

Posted on: Monday, 20 November 2006, 12:01 CST

MEDHOST, provider of the leading full-suite Emergency Department Information System (EDIS), today announced that Graham Regional Medical Center, located in Graham, Texas, is fully upgrading its emergency department (ED) with MEDHOST. MEDHOST will empower Graham with a complete, easy-to-use EDIS, which includes advanced patient tracking, nurse charting, physician documentation and computerized physician order entry capabilities.

When Graham's clinicians and administrators witnessed MEDHOST's ability to decrease patient wait times and increase patient safety, they envisioned the impact that MEDHOST would have on their ED. Graham will soon enjoy MEDHOST's simple, true touch solution, and because MEDHOST's easy-to-use EDIS is so quickly adopted by clinicians, it will allow for better and safer patient care, improved staff satisfaction, streamlined workflow and a more financially stable ED.

"When we observed nurses and doctors easily charting patient information with MEDHOST, it was clear that the system was intuitive and designed with the clinician in mind," said Blake Kretz, CEO of Graham Regional Medical Center. "MEDHOST will provide our clinicians with greater versatility and allow them to spend even more time at patient bedsides. By using MEDHOST to automate routine processes like charge capture and physician documentation via tablet PCs and in-room computer units, our medical staff will be able to devote more of their time to providing patients with the one-on-one care they deserve."

"We are excited that Graham Regional Medical Center has selected MEDHOST to meet all of their EDIS needs," said Craig Herrod, CEO of MEDHOST. "MEDHOST is proud of the fact that a rural hospital like Graham Regional can achieve the same dramatic results with our full product suite as larger urban facilities. We know that Graham Regional shares our core values, primarily a dedication to Customer care, and we look forward to working with Graham to ensure that each of their patients feels the benefits of a safer and more effective ED."

MEDHOST currently serves facilities such as Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, the Lifespan Health System of Rhode Island, and the Baylor Health Care System in Texas. MEDHOST is the preferred EDIS provider of VHA Inc., a national cooperative serving more than 2,400 not-for-profit healthcare organizations.
