U.S. Surgeon General to Keynote National Health Forum 2006 in Houston

The National Health Forum 2006 announced today that U.S. Surgeon General Kenneth P. Moritsugu, MD, MPH will be keynoting the December 8 forum being held at Reliant Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Moritsugu will be joined by several national medicine and business leaders on topics ranging from the latest on stem cell research to healthcare in corporate America.
"Endocrine disorders such as diabetes, obesity and osteoporosis are among the most common and preventable of all medical conditions. Working together, we can make a difference," said Dr. Steven Petak, President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. "And with support from officials like the Surgeon General, we can really help drive home the message of preventative medicine along with educating the public about the future of healthcare and medicine."
Dr. Moritsugu will speak on the topic of the future of preventive medicine during the event's scheduled luncheon session. The entire event is approved for Continuing Medical Education credits for AMA members.
Rear Admiral Moritsugu is currently the Acting U.S. Surgeon General and if appointed will be the 18th Surgeon General of the United States Public Health Service.
At the conclusion of the day events, the NHF is hosting a gala at the Westin Galleria honoring speakers, special guests and sponsors. Entertainment will be provided by The Doctors Orchestra Strings and the renowned Richard Brown Orchestra and singers.
