Boy Sentenced in Group Rape of Girl

MILWAUKEE - A 14-year-old boy was sentenced to a year in a juvenile correctional facility Tuesday in the case of an 11-year-old girl who police say was coached by an older girl as she was sexually assaulted by at least 14 males.
The boy was the first to be sentenced of 14 people charged in the case. Seven were charged as adults and seven as juveniles. The juveniles' ages at the time of the crime were aged 13 to 16. Those charged in adult court were aged 17 to 40.
The boy sentenced Tuesday, who was 13 at the time, pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault of a child party to a crime.
Matthew Torbenson, an assistant district attorney in children's court, said he is talking to other defendants about possible plea deals.
According to court documents, the 11-year-old went to the house of a 16-year-old girl on Labor Day, and the older girl encouraged her to perform oral sex on the males in the house. An adult woman was present but did nothing to stop it, according to records.
