Sport & Health to Expand Services in Fredericksburg and Stafford Through the Acquisition of Fitness University

STAFFORD, Va., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Sport & Health Clubs acquires Stafford County's Fitness University in a move that enlarges their presence in the rapidly growing Fredericksburg City and Stafford County corridor.
Fitness University, at 2852 Jefferson Davis Highway, is a 17,000 square- foot facility, including a swimming pool, fitness center, fully appointed locker rooms with steam and sauna, group exercise classes and a nursery. The acquisition of Fitness University, brings the total number of Sport & Health Clubs in the area to three, including the Central Park and Four Mile Fork locations in Fredericksburg. According to Jonathan Adler, President and COO additional facilities are in the planning stage as part of the Sport & Health strategy to have multiple clubs in a single market area.

Immediate plans include an interior renovation of Fitness University and converting all three Fredericksburg and Stafford locations to 24-hour fitness facilities, based on the Fitness University model.
