March Vision Care, Inc. has been granted a Knox-Keene license by the California Department of Managed Health Care as a specialized vision plan. It is the first time in nine years that the State's Department of Managed Health Care has granted a license to a vision plan.
The license will allow March Vision Care to contract directly with employer groups, unions and other associations.
March Vision Care currently manages the vision care benefits for more than 800,000 members in six states, including California, Ohio, Michigan, New Mexico, Utah and Washington.
March Vision Care was founded by Drs. Glen and Cabrini March to be an active partner in improving its members' overall health status through high quality, affordable vision care that focuses on early detection, education and management through innovative, member-oriented solutions.
"With the help of an advanced, proprietary software system, our goal is to facilitate better management and improve health outcomes," said Dr. Glen March.
