FreedomVOICE Systems Shares Success, Donates Monthly to Children's Hospital of San Diego

FreedomVOICE Systems (FVS), a leading provider of a wide array of integrated virtual office tools, shares its success monthly by donating to Rady Children's Hospital of San Diego.
"We've had 10 years of solid, continuous growth," said Eric Thomas, founder and CEO of FreedomVOICE. "I feel it is our obligation as well as our privilege to share that success and I can find no better place than Children's."
Thomas said he selected the healthcare facility in part because of its stated mission: "to restore, sustain and enhance the health and developmental potential of children through excellence in care, education, research and advocacy."
"Rady Children's is the only trauma center and hospital in the area specifically designated for kids," he said. "As a new parent myself, I know how precious my son is. I would want the absolute best care possible for him if he was injured or ill. Donating to Children's is my way of making sure that type of care is available for as many kids as possible."
Opened in 1954, the healthcare facility has undergone significant recent growth and is adding new buildings to house both pediatric patients as well as their visiting families.
According to hospital records, there have been 78,892 emergency and urgent care visits so far in 2006, a tripling of the volume since 1995. Philanthropic giving is helping purchase essential equipment, new technology and expanded research.
The hospital operates the Rady Children's Orthopedic Care Center with more than 44,000 outpatient visits last year and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, caring for 1,345 newborns, according to hospital officials.
"The generosity of our donors, like FreedomVOICE Systems, has allowed us to purchase additional equipment that wouldn't have been possible otherwise," said David Gillig, senior vice president and executive director with Rady Children's Hospital of San Diego. "We have continued our commitment to provide the best equipment, programs, services and healing environment possible."
Rady Children's offers a number of programs for patients and their families, many of which are not reimbursed by private medical insurance, according to hospital officials. They point to the Canine Care Therapy Program, Integrative Medicine Program, Rady Children's Music Program, Rady Children's Healing Arts Program and others as ways the hospital works to help kids when they're sick.
"Children's works in so many directions to help ill children," said FreedomVOICE Systems' Thomas. "Facilities, research and equipment all cost money. We are very proud to help and plan to continue to do so."
