Woman Aged 67 Has Twins

A 67-YEAR-OLD Spanish woman became the world’s oldest mother when she gave birth to twins yesterday.

The unnamed woman, who became pregnant after IVF treatment, had a caesarean section at Barcelona’s Hospital de la Santa Creu.

The mother, from Andalusia, and twins her first children are in good health, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The previous oldest mother was Romanian Adriana Iliescu, who had a baby girl in January 2005 at the age of 66.
