Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS) today announced increasing demand for its Amelior™ automatic patient and asset tracking software which has resulted in eight facilities choosing to implement the company's software in past months. The software is used to locate, track and orchestrate the flow of patients, staff and mobile medical equipment in order to streamline care, improve patient safety and optimize department management. PCTS markets solutions specifically for emergency departments, surgical services and enterprise-wide applications and integrates automatic tracking in its emergency department information system.

Amelior automatic tracking software has been selected for implementation in emergency and surgical services departments. This has included several existing customers who have contracted to expand their deployment of their automatic tracking system from their emergency department to include their surgical services suites. Recently, the software was implemented to support an enterprise-wide asset tracking application.

Automatic patient and asset tracking software gives busy caregivers real-time information on the location of scarce resources and the care progression of their patients to help them manage care more efficiently without requiring manual data entry," said Tony Marsico, CEO of PCTS. "Amelior automatic tracking software works with all locating hardware technologies including infrared, active RFID, ultra-wideband and Wi-Fi to meet the diverse locating needs that exist in healthcare today. It is also available to be integrated with electronic emergency nurse and physician charting and order entry as part of the Amelior ED™ patient care system."
