Signature treatments Spa enthusiasts and celebrity wannabes are spoiled for choice with the May Fair’s treatments list. The Algothem Soap Massage is ideal for weary souls, while the Jetlag Reviver package combines a full body aroma massage with a May Fair mud bath and a remineralising wrap with Vichy shower. For VIP clients, the May Fair Pevonia Journey, created exclusively for the May Fair by Pevonia, is the epitome of luxury. Guests allow their senses to go on a journey around the globe with the world’s best treatments including a soothing Indian Head Massage, a smoothing Aromatherapy Salt Glow, a Mineral Wrap and an Acupressure Facial for the face, neck and shoulders.

Relaxation time In addition to the seven treatment rooms, the spa offers a traditional sauna plus a herbal steam room enhanced by essential oils and fresh herbs roasting on a cast iron plate. After the treatments, delegates can enjoy some downtime in the spa’s relaxation room, which features warmed marble loungers for stretching and reclining, heated floors and scented candles. Teas such as jasmine and mint are served to complement treatments with similar oils and ingredients. Delegates wanting to work up a sweat all over again can make use of the hotel’s health and Illness facilities.

Where? This contemporary West London bolthole is tucked away along a residential neighbourhood by Kensington Olympia, but once inside it is the height of urban chic. K Spa at K West is located next to the meeting rooms, raising the interest in mini-massages during breakouts or revitalising treatments after a dillicult boardroom session.

Signature treatments The new Ytsara range of Asian-inspired treatments include Samunprai, the Thai herbal heat energiser. Designed to revive the aching limbs of Thai soldiers in the 14th century, this hot massage begins with the bathing of the feet in lemongrass and citrus oils and is followed by a massage to open the pores and heat the muscles. An invigorating massage with peppermint and mandarin oils leaves the body fully revived. A warm herbal tea served immediately after the treatment adds to the pampering.

Relaxation time Delegates can de-stress in either the eucalyptus or the lemon steamroom before lolling in the sauna or Jacuzzi. Two relaxation lounges are also on offer. The spa is complemented by a fitness centre offering a resistance and cardio gym with treadmills, bikes, step machines. Concept 11 rowers and weights but il that sounds too taxing, try a yoga or pilates class.
