SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Beginning in January, over twenty new state-of-the-art walk-in clinics will open their doors in select Meijer stores across Indiana and Michigan. Affordable Basic Care(TM) has selected CareClinic, Inc., a division of Arcadia Resources, Inc., a leading national provider of home care, staffing services, and related home care equipment to operate and staff the healthcare clinics 7 days a week with specially trained nurse practitioners and physicians’ assistants. Metro Health in Grand Rapids MI. will be providing medical direction. Providing convenient and affordable health care to thousands of residents, these clinics will treat patients in local communities.

Located inside the stores, the first three new clinics will open in Meijer stores at 6309 Lima Road and 5909 Illinois Road, in Fort Wayne, Indiana and 2507 Chester Boulevard in Richmond, Indiana. Nineteen additional Affordable Basic Care(TM) clinics operated by CareClinic, Inc. will also open in Meijer stores in Michigan and Indiana. CareClinic, Inc. is also taking over operations of the three existing Affordable Basic Care Clinic’s that opened in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the Spring of 2006.

The clinics will be an easy and fast way for patients to have their cholesterol checked, ear infection treated, or other non-urgent medical needs addressed without an appointment, long wait or expensive emergency room visit. To maintain the highest standards of care and the service and affordability that are the Meijer hallmark, the clinics will be managed by experienced health care professionals.

This team-based approach is critical to effectively coordinate patient care. In the event of a more serious condition or long term illness, patients will be referred to their primary care physician or the appropriate healthcare provider and their records electronically transferred upon patient approval. If the patient does not have a doctor, the clinic staff will help them find a local physician.

“Meijer cares about the communities they serve and wants their customers to be proud to have them as a neighbor. Meijer will be able to provide convenient health care options to many communities in Indiana and Michigan,” said Stacie Behler, Vice President Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Meijer. “These clinics will improve access to affordable care and reduce the time burden and financial impact on patients.”

The clinics will provide a wide variety of services ranging from typical sick care to health and wellness screening tests, including:

   — Treatment of common illnesses such as colds, flu, allergies, ear infections, strep throat, and skin conditions — Cholesterol, blood glucose, strep throat, and mononucleosis — Health and wellness screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar — Vaccines such as Hepatitis A/B, Influenza, Meningitis, MMR — Referrals to healthcare specialists and/or services when necessary

The relationship with Affordable Basic Care(TM) is the latest in a series of partnerships recently announced by CareClinic, Inc. “These clinics mean no waiting in line or scheduling appointments and have extended hours for the consumer’s convenience. We will provide an easy alternative for treatment of non-emergency medical problems,” said Cardiologist and CareClinic, Inc. CEO, Dr. Alan Lotvin.

Arcadia Resources, Inc. Chairman and CEO John Elliott II said, “The Affordable Basic Care(TM) clinics operated by CareClinic Inc. meet the needs of today’s consumer. Clinics are one of many healthcare delivery models in which Arcadia is actively engaged, in order to better serve the American consumer. Whether it is through our home care and staffing services or our respiratory and durable medical equipment, Arcadia is committed to providing total healthcare solutions designed to help patients with their day-to-day health care needs.”
