‘Affordable Basic Care’ Clinics Opened in Meijer Stores: Two Meijer Stores in Town Have Opened Clinics That Treat Common Illnesses and Offer Health Screenings.

Jan. 20–Two Fort Wayne Meijer stores want to help cure what ails you.
Meijer stores at 6309 Lima Road and 5909 Illinois Road have opened in-store health clinics. Meijer plans to open 19 more Affordable Basic Care clinics operated by CareClinic in Michigan and Indiana stores, according to a written statement. CareClinic will operate three Affordable Basic Care clinics that opened in Grand Rapids, Mich., last spring.
The clinics are open seven days a week with specially trained nurse practitioners and physicians’ assistants. Services include:
–Treatment of common illnesses such as colds, flu, allergies, ear infections, strep throat, and skin conditions
–Tests for cholesterol, blood glucose, strep throat, and mononucleosis
–Health and wellness screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar
–Vaccines such as Hepatitis A/B, Influenza, Meningitis, MMR
–Referrals to health-care specialists and/or services when necessary
The release did not say how much clinic visits will cost. Information through local stores was not available Saturday morning.
