TriZetto to Speak on Consumer Retail Healthcare and Technology at World Research Group's Cost & Quality Conference
Posted on: Monday, 22 January 2007, 09:00 CST
Dawn Burriss, vice president of Provider Solutions for The TriZetto Group Inc. (Nasdaq: TZIX), will speak at the World Research Group's first-of-its-kind conference, "Achieving Transparency in Cost & Quality." Burriss will be conducting a session titled, "Real-Time, Point-of-Service Financial Settlement -- The Key to Solving the Healthcare Affordability Crisis and to a Successful Consumer Retail Program." The presentation will review technology strategies that can provide value to payers, providers, and consumers, given significant changes going on in the way Americans think about, pay for, and manage their healthcare.
TriZetto is also demonstrating at the conference its patent-pending Provider POS Direct™ software, which enables health plans to provide exact real-time eligibility, benefit and financial responsibility information to providers who care for their members. The software also provides the option of real-time claims adjudication and financial settlement among the patient, provider and health plan before the patient leaves the provider's office.
Providers are already demanding tools from health plans to enable real-time patient and financial transactions to help them with accounts receivable issues. As patients shoulder more of the actual cost of their healthcare services, providers face an alarming rate of bad debt. If a provider fails to collect full payment prior to the patient's check-out, the chance of ever recovering full payment drops substantially. Health plans that provide the technology for real-time and up-to-date information at all points-of-service can retain and contract the best providers in their networks, while also retaining and improving support to members as they navigate the complex healthcare system.
"With TriZetto's Provider POS Direct, health plans can transform the way they do business in order to satisfy the needs of providers, consumers and other constituents given the emerging consumer retail healthcare model," said Burriss. "Our goal is to assist health plans with improving the cost and quality of care by delivering affordable solutions that engage consumers and providers to solve business issues. At the same time, TriZetto solutions can help deliver effective supply chain integration capabilities to address all the health plan's constituents, including employers and brokers."
Settling the patient's financial responsibility in real time provides cost transparency and increased satisfaction to members, and improved cash flow for providers, while significantly reducing administrative costs for providers and health plans alike.
Recently, TriZetto's Provider POS Direct software was recognized as "Best in Show" across all 34 award categories and "Best Consumer-Friendly Technology for Improvement of Transaction Processing" by Consumer Health World. The software was chosen over entries from multiple product and service companies, non-profit organizations, foundations, government agencies, hospitals, and academic entities.
World Research Group's conference, "Achieving Transparency in Cost & Quality," January 22 -- 24 in Las Vegas, provides attendees with best-in-class case studies from leading health plans on partnering with providers to deliver useful, understandable, and transparent information on cost and quality.
