Misys Healthcare Systems Expands Partnership With Princeton HealthCare System

Posted on: Wednesday, 24 January 2007, 09:01 CST

Misys Healthcare Systems, a leader in healthcare IT, today announced that Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) will significantly expand its utilization of Misys technology to further enhance patient care and safety as it continues to create a more connected medical community. As a result of the expansion, PHCS will now use Misys CPR™ on clinical desktops, expand its system to the radiology department and implement Misys Homecare™, a major step toward creating an interoperable healthcare community through its home health unit, Princeton HomecareServices. By expanding its management of clinical information and making critical patient information more easily accessible, PHCS hopes to enhance patient care.

"Misys shares our vision of using technology to improve patient care; it was a natural extension of our longstanding relationship to expand Misys' technology throughout our system," said Bruce Traub, CFO of Princeton HealthCare System. "The new level of functionality that we will experience is expected to improve our efficiency by providing clinicians -- physicians, nurses and pharmacists -- with even more convenient access to patients' electronically-stored medical records. This information is critically important as they make decisions regarding patient care."

By utilizing Misys Homecare, with its integrated clinical, financial and administrative capabilities, Princeton HealthCare System expects to increase its operational effectiveness and enhance its delivery of high quality healthcare services to its home health unit and patients. "Princeton HealthCare System is one of several recent announcements involving both new and current Misys clients using our technology to take patient care to the next level," said Richard Atkin, president of the Hospital Systems business unit at Misys Healthcare Systems. "Princeton's early adoption of technology is to be commended, and we're pleased that they've again turned to us and our trusted and proven technology to deliver quality care across their enterprise."

Princeton HealthCare System has plans to move its hospital unit, University Medical Center at Princeton, into an entirely new facility in 2010. Misys CPR gives physicians the ability to retrieve and update patient data, 24/7, from any Web browser. Misys CPR is a part of the Misys Optimum™ family of clinical products and Web-based technologies designed to increase patient information sharing across all medical care venues. Misys Optimum products set the standard for industry-wide interoperability.
