InteGreat Inc., a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) systems for physician group practices, today announced that IC-Chart(R) 6.0 has been certified by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT(SM)) for meeting ambulatory EHR criteria for 2006. The CCHIT Certified(SM) mark is a seal of approval for EHR products and provides the first consensus-based, consistent benchmark for ambulatory products designed for physician offices and clinics.
As a CCHIT Certified product, IC-Chart has successfully completed testing and passed inspection for 100 percent of a set of criteria for:
-- Functionality: The ability to create and manage electronic records for all patients, as well as automating workflow in a physician's office. -- Interoperability: A first step in the ability to receive and send electronic data to EHR entities, such as laboratories. -- Security: The ability to keep patients' information safe.
"It is an honor to earn coveted CCHIT certification, which demonstrates that IC-Chart has met rigorous testing requirements based on real-life medical scenarios," states InteGreat's President David Koeller. "As a CCHIT Certified product, IC-Chart has met CCHIT's current requirements for functionality and protecting the privacy of personal health information."
CCHIT, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Recognized Certification Body, is an independent, non-profit organization that sets the benchmark for EHRs. By looking to products with the CCHIT Certified seal, physicians and other providers can be assured they are making a reliable investment, and insurers and other payers know the products meet expected industry standards. CCHIT certified products have been reviewed by a panel of judges, including physicians; evaluated against standards set by professionals in the field; and successfully piloted with products from small and large companies.
