New York Business Group On Health Convenes Conference On Health Program ROI; Trends in Health & Productivity Management Series Begins February 7th

Posted on: Monday, 29 January 2007, 15:00 CST

NEW YORK, Jan. 29, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- New York Business Group on Health (NYBGH) will present "Trends in Health & Productivity Management: Measuring the ROI of Health Programs" on February 7th, the first of two conferences on health and productivity management. The conference will cover important topics for mid- and large-sized businesses, including developing evaluation standards for disease management and creating frameworks for total cost impact.

Conference highlights include:

* Keynote speaker Wayne Burton, MD, Senior Vice President and Medical Executive at JPMorgan Chase, a thought leader and innovator in measuring and managing health risks in the workplace. * Presenters including Wendy D. Lynch, PhD, Senior Research Analyst and Principal Consultant at Human Capital Management Services Group; Tracey Moorehead, Executive Director of the Disease Management Association; Judy Kleemier, Director of Health and Wellness Strategies at ICI Americas, Inc.; and Kathy McAlpine, Director of Global Compliance Communication for Kraft Foods and Founding Member of the Alliance for Wellness ROI, Inc.

"Representatives of mid- and large-size employers and union fund administrators that are working to create best practices in the measurement and standardization of health program ROI should attend this conference," said Laurel Pickering, MPH, Executive Director of NYBGH.

The conference will address the problems health care purchasers face when measuring returns on health management programs, including lack of access to data and lack of standard methods for measuring savings or program outcomes. Attendees will be directed to free tools that are available for estimating health program costs, even when resources are limited or detailed data cannot be obtained.

"This program is invaluable for all health care purchasers," said Pickering. "NYBGH's conference attempts to address the issue of return on investment for the dollars spent on wellness and other health management programs."

The second conference in the series, "Trends in Health & Productivity Management: Integrating Data and Delivery of Health Programs," will take place on April 12th, 2007.
