Health Net Opens Insurance Sales Storefront for Easier Access and Information
Health Net of California announced the opening of a retail storefront to provide for a more personal interaction between Health Net and Modesto residents who need health insurance. The community enrollment and customer service center allows Health Net to have in-person contact with the residents of the Modesto region. Called Health Net’s Community Solutions Center, it is located at 1940 Crows Landing Road in Modesto, and is focused on reaching the nearly 90,000 uninsured residents in Modesto.
“By reaching out to residents where they shop, work and socialize, Health Net is contributing to improving the health care of the communities it serves,” said David Friedman, Government Programs Officer for Health Net of California. “It is critical our industry moves to provide innovative services and establish community partnerships aimed at serving our state’s uninsured population.”
Health Net’s Community Solutions Center provides one-on-one service in English and Spanish. In addition, visitors will receive information and help in identifying a health insurance plan that meets their needs.
Highlighting the importance to the community, Modesto Mayor Jim Ridenour participated in the store opening along with other local leaders. “With nearly 10 percent of Stanislaus County residents uninsured, Health Net’s Community Solutions Center is welcomed news in Modesto,” said Mayor Ridenour. “Through these efforts, we can begin to educate our community about the importance of health insurance for every member of the family.”
The Community Solutions Center is part of Health Net’s ongoing effort to increase access to health care by creating innovative solutions to meet the needs of each community it serves. The storefront concept is one that allows people to have in-person, direct contact with Health Net to improve access to health care for underserved populations as well as the community at large. The Mayor and representatives from Riverbank Unified School District, El Concilio and the Hispanic Leadership Council joined Health Net for a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony today. The festivities were followed by a health fair and VIP reception in the evening.
