MommyTalk.Com Launches Monthly Awareness Program - Seeing, Sharing, Supporting

Posted on: Wednesday, 31 January 2007, 09:01 CST

PHOENIX, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- MommyTalk.com announced today that the site will host a monthly awareness program -- Seeing, Sharing, Supporting -- to educate members on key issues that can affect themselves and their loved ones. The site will kick off the program on Feb. 1, with Heart Disease Awareness Month.

Seeing, Sharing, Supporting will highlight a new topic each month, concentrating on issues like cancer, domestic abuse, disaster awareness, depression, and more. Each month, several articles from a variety of subject matter experts will be featured on the site, discussing warning signs, treatment, how to obtain help or reach out to someone else, and more. Members will be able to connect and share their stories with each other in the site's popular open forum discussions.

"By sharing information and experiences, we will better identify the warning signs of these issues, learn how to prevent, seek treatment and support one another," said Travis Moss, president and CEO. "At the end of the day, our health and piece of mind is absolutely critical to being the best parents we can be."

As February kicks off with a focus on heart disease, America's Healthiest Mom, Jyl Steinback, will provide members will prevention tips and other important information.

"As the number one killer of women in the U.S., heart disease is tragic," said Steinback. "Not only does it kill, but it also causes disabilities and can severely decrease one's quality of life. It's important to understand what causes heart disease, because it is preventable and treatable."

Other feature contributors will provide insight and share experiences on how heart disease has affected their lives.
