Hospital Move
February 1, 2007
INPATIENT services for leukaemia patients at Darlington Memorial Hospital look likely to move to Bishop Auckland after health bosses backed plans for a new unit at the town’s general hospital. It would mean the six-bed unit at Darlington, established after a fundraising effort by cricketer Ian Botham’s wife Kathy, and others, would be downgraded to an outpatient unit.
