Visual Healthcare Technology Will Power Clinical Module for Anesthesia Practice
Posted on: Monday, 5 February 2007, 09:01 CST
Visual Healthcare Corp. (the "Company") (OTCBB: VSHC) has entered into an agreement to license additional transaction technology for a new clinical module to support inpatient and ambulatory anesthesia practice. This agreement follows Visual Healthcare's affiliate, VisualMED Clinical Solutions Corp's release of its high performance Anesthesiology module. The module has been in development for five months, and has been developed in conjunction with a hospital team of staff anesthesiologists. Real-time, by-the-bedside data entry is supported, as are automated entry of vital signs and gas exchange parameters.
Data entry as well as medical record notes are entered exclusively through touch and are automatically integrated into the electronic patient record. Dr. Werner Pfisterer, a staff anesthesiologist affiliated with New York's Mt. Sinai Hospital commented, "Anesthesia has become so complex that it is increasingly difficult to fully document every aspect of entire procedures. This clinical module will allow practitioners to document more completely the quality of care provided to patients undergoing surgery."
Visual Healthcare's role in this new product line involves providing secure connectivity and is expected to generate recurring licensing revenue in the third quarter of calendar 2007. The technical support and maintenance of this module's deployment is expected to be extremely light and inexpensive.
"Our partnership in this new product line shows the value of synergy we can achieve with clinical companies," commented Visual Healthcare Chairman Gerard Dab. "Supporting such initiatives with our technology is one of the factors that is key to our strategy to double revenues in fiscal 2008."
