Dr. Oz Headlines World’s 1st Pain Symposium for Patients, Doctors
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ — Dr. Mehmet Oz, the world’s leading health expert, will tackle pain during Pain Expo ’07 Oct. 5-6 at the Orange County Convention Center.
“Pain Expo ’07 is the first symposium to convene patients and medical professionals under one roof to find pain management solutions,” says the event’s Orlando-based creator Rowe Jones, a symposium presenter, chronic pain patient, coping expert and motivator for those who live with pain.
Oz, the gifted Oprah-endorsed communicator celebrated for his “You” series of bestsellers, cracks the code for achieving longevity and taking charge of pain.
“Pain punctures our sense of wellness,” says Oz, the globally-acclaimed cardiothoracic surgeon whose brand empowers people by demystifying anatomy and psychology.
“I am honored to be presenting at the Pain Expo as we seek fulfilling approaches to achieving vitality,” says Oz, professor and vice chairman of surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center.
Pain Expo ’07 is a consortium of the world’s best doctors and health motivators. The trailblazing, two-day symposium will be attended by up to 7,000 patients and up to 500 doctors and medical professionals.
“People with chronic pain and the medical professionals who treat it have a need for information. They need to know about the latest treatments, services and products that are available. Pain Expo ’07 will offer a wealth of information through our presenters, exhibitors and sponsors,” says Jones, founder of Happy with Pain, a self-help program that features seminars, products and other real-time tools to enhance the lives of those in pain.
Expo presenters also include Scott Brady, M.D., founder of the Brady Institute of Health at Florida Hospital and author of the best-seller, “Pain Free for Life”; Mark I. Sharfman, M.D., director of the Headache & Neurological Treatment Institute; Brian Fuselier, D.D.S, a facial pain expert and partner at Central Florida Oral Surgery; and Beree Darby, Ph.D., a psychoneuroimmunologist specializing in self-hypnosis and human performance.
Sessions will address headaches, back pain, arthritis, addiction, fibromyalgia, facial pain, fitness, humor, nutrition, self-hypnosis and more. Extra features include the “Relaxation Station,” an enclave for meditation, message and comfort products. CME credits are available for medical professionals.
