Joanne L. Fukuda a 23-Year Resident of Elk Grove Village

Joanne L. Fukuda a 23-year resident of Elk Grove Village Services for Joanne L. Fukuda (nee Thurmond), 47, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Born in Aurora, she died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Joanne was employed for 10 years as an emergency room nurse at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. She was the beloved wife for 26 years of Motoichi Fukuda; loving mother of Emi, Michio and Kenji; and dear daughter of Bernice Thurmond (nee Lehnert) and the late James Thurmond.
