LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ — Speaking at the National Pay for Performance Summit in Los Angeles today, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called on health care leaders to support California’s effort to “show other states and the federal government that health care reform can be done.”

Organized by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA), the three-day summit has been attended by nearly 700 health care policy leaders from around the nation involved in reforming traditional approaches to financially compensating physicians. Commenting on the bipartisan support that he said he is getting for health care reform proposal, Schwarzenegger said, “there is not good democratic reform, or good republican reform, there is only good health care reform.”

“We are bringing everyone together in this effort,” said the governor. “And we need your help. Our system is broken and we cannot address the problem incrementally. We need reform and there is a lot of enthusiasm for this.”

Tom Williams, executive director of IHA said that IHA is committed to working with the governor’s team to realize the plan’s fundamental aims.
