Newly Enhanced myCIGNA.Com Launched

BLOOMFIELD, Conn., Feb. 19, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Today CIGNA HealthCare has launched a complete redesign of its member Website, http://www.mycigna.com/. The revamped site offers CIGNA HealthCare members quicker and easier access to their personal health information, plan benefits and transactions detail, and quality and/or cost information for hospitals, outpatient facilities, specialists and prescription medications tailored according to the individual member’s health and plan.

Initially launched in the summer of 2002, myCIGNA.com has undergone numerous upgrades including being the first Website to: compare hospitals for treatment outcomes; compare prescription medications; provide radiology and outpatient surgery costs and real-time medication pricing according to the member’s health plan; automatically input clinical test results into a member’s Personal Health Record (PHR); and integrate CIGNA HealthCare member PHR data into an online health risk assessment.

“Given the wealth of resources we make available to members through myCIGNA.com, it is an ongoing challenge to ensure that information and tools are laid out intuitively so that members can quickly and easily find what they need,” said Jeffrey Wyne, vice president of marketing, CIGNA HealthCare. “Our redesign is the result of months of research, including surveys and user testing of our members and employers.”

According to Wyne, myCIGNA.com’s new enhancements focus on facilitating access to the site’s most popular features and improving the overall site navigation:

   — Provider Directory – used for an average of 13 million searches a year,      the online directory will now feature more information on CIGNA      HealthCare-contracted health care professionals in an easy-to-read      horizontal format.  Effective in 2007, members can now find and compare      in-network specialists based on their performance on select quality and      cost efficiency measures using a star-based scoring system.    — Enhanced medical and dental claims status pages – including improved      and expanded search capabilities, claim status information and an      improved claim detail results page layout.  In addition, claim      information will now include dollars paid out of a member’s Flexible      Spending Account, Health Savings Account or Health Reimbursement      Account, giving members a complete view of how their claim was paid.    — Improved navigation including a new Member Center – enabling members      to quickly and easily perform key tasks including downloading forms,      printing and requesting ID cards and locating contact information from      an easily accessed central location.   

Looking ahead, additional new myCIGNA.com resources are scheduled to be launched in 2007, including:

   — A third-generation CIGNA Pharmacy drug price quote tool will provide      side-by-side pricing according to the member’s plan for both the target      drug and therapeutically equivalent medications (including generic      alternatives) dispensed at CIGNA Tel-Drug Home Delivery Pharmacy and      57,000 retail pharmacies nationwide.    — The Dental Treatment Cost Estimator launched in 2006, which provides      cost estimates for dental treatments based on average cost by state,      will be enhanced to provide estimates customized to the CIGNA Dental      member’s specific plan.    — Enhanced displays of medical plan deductibles and maximums and a      downloadable format for medical and dental claim search results.   

Approximately half of CIGNA HealthCare’s medical plan subscribers have registered to use myCIGNA.com, and the award-winning, personalized member Web site averages some 60,000 visitors each business day. The redesign of myCIGNA.com follows the relaunch of CIGNA’s flagship public Website, http://www.cigna.com/ in January 2007.
