NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Nashville-based Aegis has been selected by Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA, to assist the facility in effectively linking the hospital's services and programs with the specific health-related needs of local employers and their workforce. Through this effort, it is expected that employee health will be improved while employer healthcare costs will be reduced.
Aegis is the nation's leading healthcare business development company whose programs can currently be found in more than 4,000 employer sites across the country. Employers participating in these programs repeatedly recognize significant dollar savings in employee health costs, absenteeism, healthcare premiums, workers' compensation and other healthcare-related expenditures.
The program being launched at 525-bed Huntington Hospital is designed to match at-risk employees with appropriate early detection, prevention and education initiatives offered by the hospital and its 980-member medical staff. These initiatives will be directly related to specific diseases such as heart, cancer and women's health, all programs for which Huntington Hospital has developed a strong reputation for excellence within the community.
As part of their agreement, Aegis will provide the hospital with its proprietary software and Internet applications as well as a full-time "employer relations specialist" who will be stationed at the hospital to oversee this program on a day-to-day basis. Other tools Aegis will provide the hospital include employer-based Health Information Centers, Personal Health Profiles, Personal Health Reports and other features designed to address a business owner's individual workplace needs.
"Making sure that our hospital-based programs reach the direct healthcare needs of specific individuals is what good, responsible healthcare is all about," said Sheryl Rudie, director of business development at Huntington Hospital. "That's why we are so excited about joining with Aegis to launch a proven-successful program that we believe is a winner for employers, employees and our hospital all at the same time."
Huntington Hospital provides a full complement of medical and surgical services including cardiology, oncology, neurology, emergency services, maternal and child health programs. The hospital has the only trauma center, pediatric intensive care unit, and regional neonatal intensive care unit in the San Gabriel Valley, located in northeastern Los Angeles County.
Aegis' national client base includes more than 60 for-profit, not-for-profit and academic medical centers that have turned to Aegis to enhance bottom-line profitability by driving top-line growth. Since pioneering the concept of employer-directed marketing in 1989, no other company has been able to match Aegis' breadth of services, track record and bottom-line proven performance when it comes to employer-directed marketing.
