Kaleida Health uses Sunrise Patient Financials to streamline billing processes, maximize reimbursements, improve cash flow and enhance patient satisfaction. By combining the solution with Sunrise Access Management, and developing interfaces with clinical systems, Kaleida Health has extended revenue management into the patient care cycle, ensuring its clinical and administrative actions generate accurate financial transactions. As a result, Kaleida Health can ensure accurate information is captured from the point of access and throughout the continuum of care.

“The Eclipsys implementation provided the solution to support revenue cycle redesign. The financial clearance, insurance verification and charge capture process are a seamless part of the scheduling, registration and order process. Activation of Eclipsys bill edits has enabled us to initiate the claim editing process at the point of access and generate complete and accurate claims post discharge.” said Barbara Losi, vice president, revenue cycle, Kaleida Health. “This was evidenced by Kaleida Health achieving our primary goal of maintaining days in accounts receivable during go-live, as there was no initial disruption of cash flow. Now that all of our facilities are on the same system, we look forward to further optimizing our operational processes and documenting improved financial outcomes across the entire health system.”

Kaleida Health is also using Sunrise Patient Financials and Sunrise Access Management to reduce duplicate efforts on profile changes, regulatory requirements, patient inquiries, as well as to streamline the claims editing process through implementation of front-end edits. By integrating the system into current contract management, decision support and general ledger systems, Kaleida Health will be able to reduce expenses and better allocate resources through improved efficiencies and reduced duplicate efforts.

“As a leading healthcare provider in New York state, Kaleida Health was a great partner to work with as we embarked on the largest activation of our revenue cycle management solutions in Eclipsys history,” said Jay Deady, Eclipsys executive vice president, Client Solutions. “Given the scale of the project, we are very proud to deliver an on-time, on-budget implementation that met all of Kaleida Health’s initial goals. We look forward to building on the project’s success to further eliminate revenue cycle workflow barriers that result in lost revenue to help improve the organization’s financial performance.”
