Main Line Health and Riddle Health System Close on Affiliation Agreement

BRYN MAWR, Pa., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- With all necessary county, state, and federal reviews completed, Main Line Health and Riddle Health System have closed on the affiliation agreement the two organizations announced last November.
The effective date of the affiliation is February 28, 2007, at which point the Riddle Health System (RHS), which includes Riddle Memorial Hospital, Mirmont Treatment Center, and other affiliated entities, will become part of Main Line Health. Main Line Health includes Lankenau, Bryn Mawr, Paoli, and Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospitals; the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research; Main Line HealthCare (a physician practice subsidiary); Main Line Health Laboratory, The Home Care Network and other related subsidiaries.
In joining Main Line Health, Riddle will also become part of the Jefferson Health System of which Main Line Health is a member. Jefferson Health System also includes Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Frankford Health Care System and Magee Rehab.

Riddle Memorial Hospital opened its doors in 1963 and today has 235 beds. The Riddle Health System has over 1900 employees, and more than 500 physicians. With the addition of Riddle, Main Line Health will have close to 10,000 employees and 2000 physicians.
