Baby Sitter Guilty in Deaths of 3 Kids

PHOENIX - A baby sitter was found guilty Wednesday of murdering three infants in her care 17 years ago.
All three babies - 2, 4 and 8 months old - died before reaching a hospital, and a medical examiner listed their causes of death as sudden infant death syndrome.
But years later, detectives reopened two of the cases. In April 1997, seven forensic pathologists agreed the babies were likely killed.
Amy Lynn Scott, 39, had pleaded not guilty to the 1989 deaths. She will be sentenced May 4, but it was unclear Wednesday night what the penalty could be.
Defense lawyer Gregory Parzych said he would appeal, arguing that Scott should have been tried separately for each infant's death.
Prosecutor Kristen Hoffmeyer did not return a call Wednesday.
Scott has been in a Phoenix jail since her November 2004 arrest.
