Tales of the Cocktail, a Cocktail and Culinary Festival, Hosts Most Spirited Event of the Summer in New Orleans: July 18-22, 2007

NEW ORLEANS, March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Tales of the Cocktail, a cocktail and culinary festival that celebrates the history and culture of dining and drinking in New Orleans, announces dates for the fifth anniversary event, July 18 - 22, 2007. The summer's most spirited event, Tales of the Cocktail explores the history and contemporary life of the cocktail at various locations in the New Orleans French Quarter and remains headquartered at the legendary Hotel Monteleone.
A twist on the standard wine and food event, five days of totally unique events at Tales of the Cocktail will please the amateur or expert with seminars and demonstrations on subjects such as Tequila, Party Planning, the History of the Cocktail, Rare Cocktail Ingredients, The Martini, Drinks and Dishes born in New Orleans and Absinthe among others. Other events include author meet and greets, cocktail samplings, dinner pairings, walking history tours, a professional series, spirit awards, bar chef competition and contemporary cocktail parties -- all presented by the country's hottest mixologists, chefs, authors, bartenders and cocktail experts.
In 2007, Tales of the Cocktail welcomes as presenters: Ted Allen, Food and Wine expert on "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,""Iron Chef" and "Top Chef," Kevin Brauch, host of THE FINE LIVING NETWORK'S "Thirsty Traveler," Bravo TV's Dave Martin, Executive Chef of Lola is Soul, Cathy Riva, host of TLC/Discovery Channel's "Party Girl," Jet Tila, contributor to NPR's "Good Food" and Asian Chef Consultant to Bon Appetit, Tony Abou-Ganim, mixologist on THE FINE LIVING NETWORK, Dale DeGroff, author of Craft of the Cocktail, and Anistatia Miller and Jared Brown, authors and Co-Founders of The Museum of the American Cocktail.

The New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to benefit hospitality industry members, produces Tales of the Cocktail annually.
