Posted on: Thursday, 15 March 2007, 18:00 CDT

TEMECULA, Calif., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- LifeTree eClinical, a member of the FFF Enterprises Inc. family of companies and a leading provider of clinical electronic data capture and analysis systems, today announced the company has been awarded a contract for a clinical study to determine the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of a powder-form of a weight loss medication.

The three-part study aims to determine the effects of a maximum tolerated dose of the medication in obese subjects.

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 66 percent of the U.S. adult population is overweight or obese!" said Patrick M. Schmidt, president and CEO of LifeTree and FFF Enterprises. "We believe it is important for us to assist with clinical studies that may aid in the improvement of this national problem."

According to the CDC, being overweight or obese increases the risk of many diseases and health conditions, including Type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke and osteoarthritis, to name a few.
