CARROLLTON, Ga., March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenway Medical Technologies Inc. has partnered with Mid Rogue Independent Physician Association (IPA) in a move to bring the benefits of integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) and interoperability technology to the local community. The partnership, which was formalized in mid-January, provides more than 80 physicians in Josephine and Jackson counties, Oregon, with access to Greenway's flagship EHR solution, PrimeSuite(R), through Mid Rogue IPA.
While the benefits of EHR implementation are clear, many smaller-sized practices do not have the funds necessary to invest fully in a solution. With this partnership, Mid Rogue has acquired PrimeSuite from Greenway(R) and now leases the solution to IPA members in Southern Oregon that are looking to utilize EHR technology to streamline the clinical, financial and administrative aspects of their practice. The partnership also helps to establish the necessary framework that will enable Greenway to partner with IPAs throughout the nation and offer the benefits of integrated EHR and interoperability technology.
Representing the physicians, Mid Rogue IPA enhances the quality of care within the community by working with insurers to provide a variety of healthcare choices, establishing lines of communication through which physicians can exchange clinical data, and deploying new technology, such as PrimeSuite, to improve patient care and practice profitability.
"The biggest problems facing practices, such as declining reimbursement and increased documentation, regulation and workload requirements, can all be alleviated by implementing EHR technology," said Tommy Green, chairman and CEO of Greenway. "By partnering with an IPA, Greenway is able to offer physicians an economical way to obtain and easily implement EHR technology and all the benefits associated with it."
"We are very excited to partner with Greenway and provide physicians in our association with a first-class integrated EHR solution at an affordable price," said Doug Flow, CEO of Mid Rogue IPA. "For a small community to have access to the same technology that is available in big cities, we are creating an environment that is inviting for physicians and practices looking to work and grow in this region."
"On a larger scale, this partnership takes great strides in the continued push for interoperability between ambulatory practices, acute care facilities and industry stakeholders," continued Green. "From President Bush's State of the Union address to the strong endorsement by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), interoperability and connectivity are key topics as healthcare initiatives continue to call for a nationwide solution that allows critical patient information to be exchanged on a large scale within the healthcare community."
