FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Critical Signal Technologies (CST) unveiled their new headquarters and demonstrated their high tech emergency response products at a grand opening reception. Company President and CEO Jeffery Prough announced the creation of 350 jobs and the company's commitment to supporting the Michigan economy.
Prough stated: "Other states around the country pitched us very aggressively, but we chose Michigan for a reason -- the ability to draw from the strong academic community and the diverse talent pool. We wanted to be a part of Michigan's new high tech corridor, and the tools that Michigan offers made it easy for us to locate here." Prough shared his comments with a crowd of 200 attendees including state, city and county officials, investors and media.
Dignitaries from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), City of Farmington Hills, representatives on behalf of Governor Jennifer Granholm and L. Brooks Patterson were in attendance and gave speeches to honor CST's Grand Opening.
Phil Bertolini, representing L. Brooks Patterson, welcomed CST to Oakland County. "Brooks goes all over the world in order to bring businesses and companies to Oakland County, as part of his emerging sectors program. CST is a perfect example of the life sciences businesses that we can bring into this county."
Cindy Douglas from the MEDC represented Governor Granholm, who had been scheduled to preside over the event. Douglas, who spoke on behalf of the Governor stated, "CST is, today, what we believe Michigan will look like in the future -- but you're making it happen today. Entrepreneurial companies who are more nimble, exciting companies rooted in technology, empowering people here in Michigan, while also improving the quality of our lives. On behalf of the MEDC, and Governor Granholm, I say thank you."
CST makes it safe, easy and affordable for seniors and those rehabilitating, to live independently in their own homes, even when facing health issues that would have required assisted living care. For less than a dollar a day, CST uses state-of-the art technology and its world class monitoring center to provide the security of constant care without the intrusion of home care aides or video monitoring.
According to Prough, "This technology has the potential to save billions in healthcare costs by preventing premature institutionalization, preventable hospital admissions, and the huge cost of medication mismanagement. Medication errors alone injure 2.2 million people and cost over 200,000 lives -- and we can help prevent this today."
