Mar. 22–Saturday, Mercer University will host an event to encourage high school girls to study math.
The event, dubbed Sonia Kovalevsky Days after a 19th century mathematician, is held at colleges nationally. It will take place locally from 8:30 a.m. to noon in Knight Hall Rooms 100, 104 and 108 on Mercer’s campus.
High school girls and their teachers are invited to the event, which includes workshops and information about careers that involve math, according to a news release.
