Diagnostix Releases Software Enhancements – Creates Powerful Pharmacy Supply Spend Tool

Diagnostix, a subsidiary of Amerinet Inc., announces the release of its enhanced version of AccuPrice, a price-auditing tool designed to add further controls to pharmacy supply spend.

Pharmaceuticals represent approximately 23 percent of a hospital’s total supply chain spend. By utilizing AccuPrice, pharmacy directors are able to reduce the number of credits and rebills, saving time and money.

The new enhancements include robust statistical, variance and frequency options, all designed to reduce price discrepancies. As a result, AccuPrice provides the check and balance needed to ensure that all purchases made through the primary pharmaceutical distributor are audited and the variance resolutions are tracked.

“The modifications of the software are the cornerstone of providing health care providers with critical pieces of information to achieve price integrity,” said Diagnostix President Mary Beth Lang.

Through the use of AccuPrice, Amerinet has reduced the number of providers’ price variances by 65 percent since its release in May of 2005. Providers have noted that time devoted to this activity has significantly reduced auditing time. In one instance, AccuPrice reduced auditing time from five hours a week to five minutes a day.

Lang noted, “AccuPrice is an effective strategy in adding controls to purchasing practices to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.”

“AccuPrice gets the price right the first time and prevents price variance for all Amerinet facilities,” added Lang. “It closes the loop with pharmacy distributors and results in credits that add to the providers’ bottom line.”
