Mar. 26–You can learn to yo-yo with IPFW Chancellor Michael Wartell, or get a ride in a private plane.

They are just two of the gifts up for bid during the annual online auction to raise money for Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne’s Child Care Center.

The auction will take place April 12-20 at www.ipfw.edu/childcar [http://www.ipfw.edu/childcar] on the Web. Items will be available for preview online beginning April 9.

Proceeds from the auction will go toward three areas:

–An emergency fund that helps families in financial crisis pay for child care so they may continue to attend classes at IPFW.

–The Zielinski Angel Fund overseen by the Center for Women and Returning Adults.

–A fund to pay for professional development for current child care staff and possibly fund additional full-time jobs at the center.

The child care center still is accepting donations of items for the auction. For information about the auction or to donate items, call 481-0112.
