Thomson Healthcare has announced positive results following on from the implementation of its MercuryMD Mobile Solution with Charge Capture technology at St Elizabeth Medical Center, a network of three hospitals in northern Kentucky.
The healthcare network has reported having decreased its billing cycle and increased revenue for procedures performed by its hospital staff through the use of MercuryMD Mobile Solution with Charge Capture.
"Before we implemented Thomson Healthcare's MercuryMD Mobile Solution, physicians in our system were manually recording billing data for each procedure. Due to our high patient census, sometimes procedures were not logged at all. This resulted in both lost revenue and data entry errors," commented Steve Slutsky, physician liaison at the St Elizabeth Medical Center.
"Since we started using the solution, we have cut our billing cycle from 14 days to one day, we have seen a 24% increase in patient volume and a 6.5% increase in revenue," he continued.
The Thomson Healthcare MercuryMD Mobile Solution delivers real-time patient clinical data to a physician's handheld device, smartphone, PDA or desktop. With it, physicians have immediate access to critical patient data, including patient census, demographics, medications and lab results.
With the addition of the Charge Capture module, physicians at St Elizabeth now record charges for procedures right on their mobile devices, reducing lost and inaccurate charges, eliminating inefficiencies and reducing the time-to-claim.
