InfoCommerce Group Launches Conference for Health Content Providers

Posted on: Thursday, 5 April 2007, 12:00 CDT

To help health content providers identify and access new markets, InfoCommerce Group is inaugurating an add-on to its annual flagship conference. Health Content07 will be held September 24, 2007 at the Park Hyatt, Philadelphia, PA and is being co-produced with GrandView Insight Inc.

The conference will present five pivotal industry forces from a content-centric view: consumer activism, evidence-based medicine, e-detailing and translational science, health portals and quality metrics. Representatives from the full range of publishing initiatives in each of these areas will illustrate how, together, both business and consumer health content providers can exploit each of these areas to best advantage. Each session will address how these trends will shape the need for specialized content over time and identify emerging opportunities for health content producers

"The noise to signal levels on healthcare is deafening," said Russell Perkins, Founder and Managing Director of InfoCommerce Group. "Health Content 07 will focus on the trends most relevant to health content providers, show them how to plug into the opportunities these trends are creating, and help them build relationships that will enable them to move faster and build stronger product offerings."

"Large traditional publishers have mountains of authoritative content that can be leveraged for new audiences," said Janice McCallum, President, GrandView Insight Inc. "To ramp up quickly to meet the growing demand for health care information, traditional publishers understand they need to partner with (or buy) the born-digital companies that can deliver content in the ways that doctors/health practitioners and consumers/patients find convenient. Health Content07 will provide the "marketplace" where everyone from tech-oriented point-of-care information providers to medical research publishers to consumer web site producers will meet, discuss the most lucrative content opportunities that are driving the industry today, and identify the best options for collaboration."

Health Content07 will be the lead-in event for InfoCommerce 2007 now in its 15th year and being held September 25-26, 2007 at the Park Hyatt, Philadelphia, PA.
