Malisheve [Malisevo], 10 April: Malisheve is again facing serious threats from ticks and even from the permanent infection with hemorrhagic fever (Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever – CCHF).
Twenty persons have requested medical treatment in the Main Family Healthcare Centre, 11 of which were sent to the University Clinical Centre of Kosova [UCCK] in Prishtina in the first quarter of this year.
Shyhrete Morina-Sertolli, representative of the municipal health board, said today that the first cases with ticks were recorded at the beginning of March.
None of the patients has been kept until now, as they were not infected with hemorrhagic fever, said Morina-Sertolli.
“Most affected places are Caralluke [Crna Luka] and Banje [Banja]. There are patients of all ages but those which are mostly affected come from the villages of this municipality,” said Morina- Sertolli.
Whereas the director of this board, Aziz Thaci, said that, unfortunately, the number of the affected has increased compared to previous years, but the centre is ready for the treatment of those cases.
