Dr. Terry Simpson of Southwest Weight Loss Centers Making Special Appearance at "Arizona Women's Expo" in Phoenix
Posted on: Friday, 13 April 2007, 18:00 CDT
Dr. Terry Simpson, one of the leading LAP-BAND bariatric surgeons in the Western United States of Southwest Weight Loss Centers, will be at booths 1140 and 1141 at the Arizona Women's Expo April 14 - 15, 2007 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Dr. Simpson will be onsite to discuss the latest and safest in minimally invasive bariatric surgical procedures including the LAP-BAND(R) procedure and its increasing importance as an alternative to yo-yo dieting and more invasive and dangerous weight loss surgeries.
Dr. Simpson and staff will be on tap to provide free body mass analysis and recommendations for Expo attendees who have tried every alternative but are considering weight loss surgery to meet their weight loss and health goals and objectives.
"Increasingly, we are finding that people with as little as 50 to 150 lbs to lose are coming to our practice looking for a solution to their weight loss problems," said Dr. Terry Simpson. "These are people who have tried every diet, every fitness program, and every over-the-counter solution available in the market and are looking for a safe, healthy surgical alternative. LAP-BAND surgery -- our specialty -- is fast becoming as popular as elective plastic surgery among people looking to improve their health and well-being by losing their extra weight. Bariatric surgery is no longer just for the morbidly obese, and more and more men and women are turning to the LAP-BAND procedure to improve their quality of life," concluded Simpson.
Dr. Simpson, known by patients and industry peers as The Weight Loss Doctor, is the Managing Director of the Southwest Weight Loss Center -- one of the largest weight loss surgical practices in the Southwestern U.S. He is a celebrated author, having penned 4 books about pre- and post-op preparation, nutrition and care for bariatric patients. Further, as a recognized expert among bariatric surgeons, he hosts a popular bariatric lecture series, and is a guest-speaker at major bariatric events around the country.
The LAP-BAND procedure is a less-invasive bariatric surgery that uses a band placed where the esophagus and small stomach meet essentially acting as a built-in 'portion control' mechanism designed to manage the patient's food intake and allow them to lose weight naturally and with nutritional balance. LAP-BANDs can be easily adjusted via a port inserted under the patient's skin. Injections of saline into the port will cause the LAP-BAND to either expand or contract thereby resizing the pathway for food, and dispensing portions on a patient's individual requirements. The LAP-BAND is also 100% reversible.
