Searching for a Soul Mate: Author Suggests Self-Reflection and Faith to Find True Love
CINCINNATI, April 18 /PRNewswire/ — Soul mates, positive energy and the meaning of life are among the topics author Katherine Gates takes on in her new book with Christian roots, “Love, Relationships and Reflective Meditation” (now available through AuthorHouse).
While a variety of relationships are addressed, the main focus of this book is romantic relationships. Gates offers suggestions about how to manage stress from sometimes difficult interactions with family, friends and co- workers. By managing the stress, individuals can avoid negative effect it may have on other relationships. Reflective meditation is introduced as a way of soothing the mind and releasing frustrations. Also discussed are the fundamental ingredients necessary for romantic relationships, as well as common problems and how to deal with them.
Gates recognizes that many people pursue and remain in relationships that are wrong for them. She suggests using reflective meditation and creating a “top ten list” of desirable traits, which will lead individuals to discover who is right for them.
Personal experiences from Gates’ life are shared throughout the book. Through these entertaining stories, she teaches the reader important relationship lessons. Morals are learned through the teenage love story with a real-life prince from a foreign country. Another lesson involves her mischievous dog, Zak, who continuously jumps on the couch. “The moral … is that we cannot change the behavior of another living being, be it spouse, significant other or four-legged family member,” Gates says. A snowstorm experience is also described to the reader. “The lesson … is that the only perfect love is God’s love for us … Our relationship with God is the most important relationship of all and should come above and before all others.” Gates explains that God will give individuals guidance through reflective meditation and will lead them to their soul mate.
Adults looking for love, whether they are single, divorced or widowed will find this book helpful to find their ideal partner, according to Gates.
Gates studied psychology at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She is featured in the Who’s Who of American Women, 2007. “Love, Relationships and Reflective Meditation” is her third book, which is the final book in her series of related books that also include: “Reflective Meditation” and “The Power of Your Thoughts” (both available through AuthorHouse). She is currently living in Kentucky while working on her fourth book, “Psalms From A Broken Heart.”
