Currently there are 15 more Gold's Gyms under construction in Global Fitness' markets including 3 in Tennessee (Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville), 8 in Ohio - Cincinnati (Bellevue, Kenwood and Florence, KY), Columbus (New Albany and Powell) and Cleveland (Legacy Village -- Lyndhurst and Lakewood) and Toledo; and 4 new Gold's Gyms in Louisville (St. Matthews, Taylorsville Rd & Hurstbourne, Dorsey Lane & Hurstbourne and Florence, KY).
Making the expansion possible is an alliance formed with Laurel Crown Partners, LLC, a Los Angeles-based private-equity firm. Royce Pulliam, CEO of Global Fitness Holdings, credited the California firm with infusing his company not only with capital but with the confidence to move forward with its growth.
Larry Paul, a partner in Laurel Crown Partners with his brother Stephen Paul, said the firm decided to invest in Global Fitness Holdings after studying the exercise business, its economics and its direction. Paul said the expansion of Global Fitness "is not capital-constrained in any way and we look forward to bringing a premium product to these outstanding communities."
