Doctor on Her Marks

DOCTOR Louise Butler is hoping her medical skills are not needed when she faces the challenge of the London Marathon tomorrow.

The 33-year-old mother-of-two, from Walsall, a GP in Kingswinford, has already raised hundreds of pounds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Cancer Research UK in 5km, 10km and half- marathons.

Now she aims to finish the London event within five hours and raise at least pounds 3,000 for Sue Ryder Care, a palliative care charity that cares for people in hospices and at home suffering from cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Huntingtons chorea and brain injuries. Donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/louisebutler or send cheques (payable to “Sue Ryder Care”) to Kingswinford Medical Practice, Standhills Road, Kingswinford, DY6 8DN.
