Senator Burr Receives Health Promotion and Disease Awareness Award at National Leadership Summit

WASHINGTON, April 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) yesterday honored Senator Richard Burr with the Health Promotion and Disease Awareness Award. This award recognizes an individual or organization who has made an outstanding contribution to providing optimal health and medical care services for a diverse society.

The Health Promotion and Disease Awareness Award was presented at the National Leadership Summit awards dinner at the fourth annual Leadership Summit on Health Disparities. This year's summit brought together over four hundred minority health advocates including senior representatives from the healthcare industry; local, state and federal government policymakers; physicians; and national patient advocacy and faith-based organizations to support the implementation of solutions to eliminate health disparities among minorities. Senator Burr received this award along with Senator Tom Coburn and Senator Jeff Sessions.
