Drug Store News announced today that it will co-present the Caregiver Expo for the first time in Pittsburgh on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Pennsylvania-based Rite-Aid will serve as the Expo's title sponsor and exclusive retail partner. Partners Trib Total Media, owner of 25+ area newspapers and multiple local websites, and WTAE-TV, Channel 4, will promote the Caregiver Expo via print, online and broadcast vehicles.
In its third year, the Caregiver Expo focuses on the health and information needs of family caregivers and promotes the value of pharmacy and wellness. Free and open to the public, the fifth-largest caregiving population in the United States will have access to the following resources at the Expo:
-- Products and services to assist both caregivers and their "patients" -- Chain pharmacist-led discussions positioning pharmacy as the first line of defense for caregivers -- Updates on products and treatment breakthroughs from health care professionals -- Sponsored presentations from industry experts on the state of chronic diseases -- Legal counsel to help educate caregivers -- Hospice care and nursing home spokespeople -- FREE Blood pressure testing, screenings and much more!
Rite-Aid will promote the Expo in 150 area stores utilizing circulars and in-store displays. They will also produce a Caregiver Resource Guide, available to all Expo attendees on-site and post-event to interested parties nationwide.
Additionally, Drug Store News will partner with senior-based care associations, local and regional employer groups and physician offices to promote the value of the free event and drive attendance.
"Although the workload of caregivers continues to increase, the amount of available resources increases in tandem," said John Kenlon, Publisher, Drug Store News. "We look forward to working with our media partners, Trib Total Media and WTAE, and our retail partner, Rite-Aid pharmacy, to bring this free, invaluable event to the caregivers of Pittsburgh."
