Groups Distribute Free Proventil Inhalers
Community health groups said Tuesday they will distribute 500,000 asthma inhalers to U.S. free clinics.
As part of the 2007 ASPIRE Campaign, the groups will hand out 500,000 units of Schering-Plough’s asthma drug Proventil to 850 community health centers and free clinics in the 50 states and Puerto Rico.
This is a great opportunity for us to help those who need help the most, said Malvise Scott, vice president of programs and planning at the National Association of Community Health Centers, one of the groups taking part in the effort. We’re proud to be part of a ground-breaking initiative that provides additional resources for a network of providers that serves as one of the nation’s last safety nets for low-income families.
The other groups taking part in the campaign are Direct Relief International, The Children’s Health Fund and the National Association of Free Clinics.
