Abbott Laboratories' Humira Will Replace Centocor's Remicade As the Clinical Gold Standard for the Treatment of Crohn's Disease By 2010

WALTHAM, Mass., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Decision Resources, Inc., one of the world's leading research and advisory firms focusing on pharmaceutical and healthcare issues, finds that Abbott Laboratories' Humira will replace Centocor's Remicade as the clinical gold standard for the treatment of Crohn's disease by 2010. Humira received marketing approval for Crohn's disease in February 2007 in the United States, and European regulatory approval for Crohn's disease is anticipated in 2007 as well. Humira becomes the new clinical gold standard in 2010 and remains so until at least 2015.
