RxHub Signs On With Emerging Health Information Technology to Bring Real-Time Medication History to Bronx RHIO Members

PAUL, Minn., and YONKERS, N.Y., May 14 /PRNewswire/ — Emerging Health Information Technology, the healthcare IT professional services company selected by the Bronx (NY) Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) to create a health information exchange, and RxHub(R), the largest national patient health information network providing real-time patient prescribing information, have announced that Emerging Health has selected RxHub MEDS(R) to provide physicians with patient medication history and pharmacy benefit information at the point-of-care.

RxHub MEDS provides physicians with real-time access to the last twelve months of a patient’s active medication history from the pharmacy claims database of health plans and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) that transact with RxHub. This data includes any medications for which the patient has used their prescription benefit, including the name of the drug, dose, quantity dispensed, days supply, dispensing pharmacy and phone number, and prescribing physician. With this information, the clinician can derive patient adherence to prescribed drug treatments, previous therapeutic interventions, potential adverse drug reactions, interactions and duplications, and any dosage modifications.
