Heart Healthy Program Sets Grocery Tours

Lancaster General’s Heart Healthy Woman Program will offer healthy grocery shopping tours in Weis Markets stores in June.

The program, in cooperation with Weis, will feature a 90-minute tour led by a registered dietitian or health educator. Participants will learn about labels and healthy choices.

The tours and Weis locations will be: 7 p.m. Monday, June 11, Willow Street Pike, Willow Street; 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, Fruitville Pike; 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, Millersville Pike; 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, Lincoln Highway East; and 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, Roherstown Road.

Also, 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, Manheim Pike; 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21, North Reading Road, Ephrata; 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, South Broad Street, Lititz; 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, Doe Run Road, Manheim; and 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, Stoney Battery Road.

A special tour will be held for children from ages 6 to 16 during the June 21 tour in Ephrata.

Space is limited to 15 participants per tour. Registration is $10, which will be refunded at the end of the tour with a $10 Weis gift card.
