Alcoholic drink bottles in Britain will now carry health warnings similar to those found on cigarette packs.

The government announced companies would voluntarily add the information to their labels, The Telegraph reported. All drinks will include warnings for pregnant women and recommended safe drinking levels on their labels by the end of 2008, the British newspaper said.

The label changes come amid growing fears over a rise in binge drinking and alcohol-related diseases and death. Charity groups also have been calling for the labels to include something similar to Alcohol can kill.
