DialPro Northwest Awarded Contract By Franciscan Health System for Emergency Event Notification System

Posted on: Wednesday, 30 May 2007, 09:00 CDT

DialPro Northwest, a leading provider of enterprise voice messaging and unified communications solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a contract for an emergency event notification system by Franciscan Health System, a non-profit comprehensive healthcare organization located in Western Washington.

Under the contract, DialPro has designed and installed an emergency event notification system for three hospitals and a community health center that are part of the Franciscan organization. Emergency event notification, also known as EEN, is a technology that allows organizations to notify pre-selected staff through broadcast messages sent by phone, email, pager or text messaging. The broadcast can take place from any telephone or computer worldwide.

Franciscan, which employs more than 6,000 people in Puget Sound and is affiliated with Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives, one of the largest non-profit healthcare organizations in the United States, is using the system in two ways. The primary use is as an EEN system to quickly contact staff in the event of an emergency by the preferred method of choice, whether it be email, phone, text messaging or other device. A secondary use is as a staffing tool that enables Franciscan to automatically contact replacement staff in the event that an employee calls in sick.

"We evaluated a number of options in selecting a company to design and install an emergency event notification system, and selected DialPro Northwest for a variety of reasons," said Eileen Newton, Disaster Coordinator for Franciscan. "With the DialPro installation, we have the ability to control the method by which we contact our staff. Additionally, we have the flexibility to combine all modalities--email, telephone, cell phone, text messaging and pagers--rather than being limited to just one option as we found with most solutions we researched."

"We're pleased to have been selected by Franciscan," said Dennis R. Tyler, president of DialPro. "In today's society, the ability to quickly contact staff in the event of an emergency is critical, and EEN systems offer all organizations, regardless of size or industry, an effective way to do so."
